Epix.Fitness | FREE Skype Training in Schools

GENIUS! is the first word that came to mind when the P.E. Coach of Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School in Virginia finished our first conversation about facilitating LIVE FITNESS EVENTS TO THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES at their school. Katie Johnson, P.E. Coach of this fine institution has an amazing foresight for the future. This, combined with a passion for teaching and building the schools TECHNOLOGY BASED CLASSROOMS led her to search online for Skype PE Classes and Epix.Fitness was the first website to pop up. (yeeesssss) Can you imagine her surprise when she read that we would do the event for free?

Skype calls between Katie and I allowed us to spend more time on developing a SAFE program for these kiddos while providing the most beneficial movements for their overall health. I absolutely loved working with Katie on this project.

"INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY INTO THE CLASSROOM" is something that I heard Katie say multiple times to the children during the introduction to the class. As I listened in while my screen was blacked out to the class, I heard positive reinforcement and a desire to show the kids how important fitness is to their lifestyle. I almost cried.

As the classes moved forward I saw that the kids were reacting fairly well to the coaching and were following along nicely. Katie and the other coaches were coaching along and made me feel like they were part of my team. I really want to extend my greatest appreciation to the coaches and all other staff that were involved. Even the Principal came out to see us train. IT WAS AWESOME!

TO THE STUDENTS;

Thank you students for working out with me in this first ever SKYPE P.E. CLASS. You were all very impressive and hard working. Keep a positive mental attitude, workout, and/or engage in active activities, remember to eat clean and healthy and you WILL live a better life as you grow up. How would you live a better life? Here is an example of how your life would change for the best if you engaged in fitness daily and was eating healthy.

Research proves that a Healthy Diet combined with Moderate to Intense exercise for 45-60 minutes per day will help keep you from catching a cold or flu. If you don’t get sick then you don’t have to take medicine, or go to the doctor and get a shot.

I don't know about you guys but I'd rather play outside for an hour everyday then to have to get a shot every few months because I was always sick.
